eAssist collected $1.135 billion insurance dollars in 2021

Research indicates that nearly 70% of dental practices in the United States are leaving an average of 9% of revenue on the table every month. What does this mean? The claims being sent are being denied, not received, downgraded, etc. due to missed dental billing processes. These processes are missed because of a variety of factors, but all of them result in dental practice revenue lost. 

We are extremely proud to share that in 2021, eAssist Success Consultants collected an incredible $1.135 BILLION in insurance dollars rightfully owed to our valued clients. That number put us at $7.83 BILLION in total insurance collections to date! Our valued dental billing clients saw an average collection ratio of 98.94% in 2021, which is more than 8% higher than the average dental practice in the United States.

eAssist sent 4.76 million clean claims in 2021

The key to timely reimbursement from insurance companies is sending squeaky clean claims the first time around. “Clean claims” encompasses the overall accuracy of the ADA claim form, from the patient demographics to the rendering provider — and everything in between.

eAssist Success Consultants sent a record 4.76 million clean claims in 2021 and 939,549 of those claims had attachments. This data shows that an astounding amount of routine dental care was happening in 2021 to get patients back on track!

In 2021, eAssist Success Consultants statused (aka “worked”) over 201,691 claims and appealed more than 16,654 claims for our valued clients. eAssist completed 301,335 insurance verifications in 2021

A huge component of sending clean claims is verifying the patient’s insurance coverage and having all of the correct information on the claim form. Accurate insurance verifications also directly impacts treatment plan acceptance, financial arrangements, and patient co-payments. It comes as no surprise that insurance verification is a tedious task that oftentimes creates a bottleneck in dental practice revenue cycle management. 

There are over 200 insurance companies, more than 700 CDT procedure codes, and over 71,000 ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes. That is a lot for a dental administrator to keep up with! Thankfully, we understand and are here to help. eAssist dental billing experts completed 301,335 insurance verifications to ensure clean claims and accurate treatment plans for our valued clients.

eAssist sent 318,499 patient statements in 2021

In order to fully collect 100% of what is rightfully owed on services rendered, the patient co-payment needs to be collected. There are many variables that may cause a patient’s balance to be uncollected, especially when dental insurance is involved. Our valued clients that pair patient billing with dental billing have the peace of mind that ALL of their outstanding accounts receivable are being handled behind the scenes. 

In 2021, eAssist Success Consultants sent 318,499 patient statements, made 60,399 patient phone calls to collect past due balances, and sent 31,098 customized patient balance letters. This freed up time for our valued clients’ office staff to provide amazing patient care…and did we mention an over 100% collection ratio every month?

eAssist scheduled over 5,200 patients in 2021
