Normal IL, July 2021 – Drs. Gregory and Renee Dietz and the Team at Children’s Center for Dentistry are eAssist’s most recent recipients of the Top Practice Award. This honor is awarded each month to two exceptional eAssist clients who embody the values of integrity, expertise and grace, while providing exemplary patient care, running efficient operations, and giving back to their communities. Presented to the practice as a whole, the award recognizes the need for a cohesive unit to run a practice to the highest standards.
A native of central Illinois, Dr. Greg Dietz earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, and his DMD from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. He practiced as a general dentist for four years, and then went on to complete his residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In 2014, Dr. Greg became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry – the highest distinction a pediatric dentist can achieve.
Also a native of Illinois, Dr. Renee Dietz graduated with honors from St. Louis University, and earned her DMD from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, where she met her future husband, Dr. Greg. She joined Children’s Center for Dentistry more recently, bringing 12 years of dental experience to the team, along with the invaluable wisdom gained from parenting their five children.
Children’s Center for Dentistry was built specifically to meet the unique needs of children. The team understands that, unlike adult teeth, kid’s teeth are in a constant state of growth, development and change. By monitoring a child’s development through regular cleanings and exams, they are able to catch and diagnose potential or developing problems. This allows them to plan treatment in advance so it can be performed at precisely the right time for the most benefit.
They also understand that one in seven adults allows fear to keep them from getting needed dental care, so they do everything they can to make the dentist’s office a positive and welcoming place for the child from their very first exposure. The first visit is used as an opportunity to present the dentist’s office as a normal, safe, fun place to be. The child can take an office tour, explore the treatment room, and even examine some instruments. For those who are still fearful or prone to anxiety, have special healthcare needs or sensory disorders, the doctors are trained and licensed to provide various forms of sedation dentistry to children to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.
