Watkinsville GA, October 2021 – Dr. Anita Mathew and the Team at TLC Dental Spa are eAssist’s most recent recipients of the Top Practice Award. This honor is awarded each month to two exceptional eAssist clients who embody the values of integrity, expertise and grace, while providing exemplary patient care, running efficient operations, and giving back to their communities. Presented to the practice as a whole, the award recognizes the need for a cohesive unit to run a practice to the highest standards.
Dr. Anita Mathew grew up in India and discovered her love for dentistry at the age of 6. After earning a dental degree there, she followed her husband to the U.S. only to find that her educational credentials did not transfer. Undeterred, she started over, eventually earning her DDS degree with honors from New York University College of Dentistry.
Dr. Mathew continued to pursue her dream of becoming a Prosthodontist – a dentist who masters the perfect balance between art and technique in the dynamics of a smile. As one of only two residents chosen for the competitive program, she received 3 years of advanced postdoctoral specialty training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. There she served as the Chief Resident and also trained dental students to treat patients with complicated dental conditions, sharing her knowledge and experience.
Dr. Mathew explains the vision for her practice like this: “I know the fear of going to a dentist, and the importance of having good oral health. My fear gave birth to questions: What if there was a different way to practice dentistry? What if people loved going to the dentist? The “What if” questions gave birth to “How can I” solutions. And from there the vision of TLC Dental Spa took birth.”
